Emburse

Emburse was founded in November 2014 by Peter Lai and Roger Gu. Emburse is an alum of Y Combinator (YC W2016), and based in San Francisco, California.

Emburse operates an expense management platform that gives businesses an insight into and control over corporate expenses. It supports the creation of physical credit cards and virtual credit cards. Emburse is used by businesses of all sizes from startups to public companies for managing employee expenses and automating vendor payments.

Business administrators can assign cards to employees or contractors for authorization of pre-approved business expenses. Administrators can set granular spending controls, require receipt collection, and pre-categorize expenses to automate bookkeeping.

Accountants and CFOs use Emburse to automatically tag expenses with departments and locations before exporting them to accounting services like QuickBooks, Netsuite, and Xero.

Emburse also offers the first corporate card API to support third-party app integrations, allowing developers to integrate Emburse’s expense management features right into their own solutions.
