Eduard Limonov (1943-2020) was a multi-talented individual, having worked as a writer, dissident, politician, poet, human rights activist, and journalist. He was born in Dzerzhinsk, Russia and was a citizen of the Soviet Union, France, and Russia. Limonov was educated at the H.S. Skovoroda Kharkiv National Pedagogical University.
He wrote across different genres, including essays, poetry, short stories, obituaries, opinion journalism, and novels. Some of his notable works were "It's Me, Eddie", "Loser's Diary", "A Young Scoundrel", "Memoir of a Russian Punk", and "We had a great epoch". Some of his other works include "Russian Psycho", "American Vacation", "The Wild Girl", "Control Shot", and "The Great Mother of Love".
Limonov was also the founder of The Other Russia (party) and used pseudonyms, such as Дед Лимон and Лимонов. He received the Andrey Beliy award as an acknowledgment of his literary achievements. Eduard Limonov passed away in Moscow in 2020.
