Landing gear systems are one of the more problematic subsystems on naval aircraft. This technology is a low cost, high reliability system that is capable of improving on the methods currently utilized for fatigue damage tracking of landing gear systems.Founded in 2000, this firm that has a diverse customer base of government and commercial organizations, has developed a multifunction Landing Gear Structural Health Monitoring (LG SHM) system that can be utilized for fatigue damage tracking of landing gear systems. This LG SHM system is applicable to landing gear health monitoring on all military and commercial platforms. This low cost, high reliability system provides the ability to measure, record, and process the operational loads data for each aircraft’s landing gear which gives aircraft program offices the ability to make data based management decisions. ES3 has developed a System Design Specification for the P-8A Poseidon LG SHM system which satisfies airworthiness certification criteria, certification testing and system component/interfacing requirements. The company is seeking government sponsorship for continued maturation/testing.
