"Legend" of world poker. A member of the Poker Hall of Fame since 1988.

In 1976 with 10♠ 2♠ he beat Jess Alto (A♠ J♦) and in 1977 he beat Gary Berland (10♠ 2♥ versus 8♥ 5♣), since then, 10-2 cards have had the nickname "the Brunson hand".

In 1978, Brunson published the book "Super System", in which he revealed a number of secrets of professional skill and which became a desktop for many future poker stars.

Interesting facts about Doyle Brunson:

Doyle ran and played basketball professionally as a young man, but was forced to give up his athletic career because of a severe leg injury sustained while working part-time in a plaster factory.

Before becoming a professional player, he participated in illegal gambling on several occasions.

One of the first players to earn $1,000,000 from playing poker.

In Doyle's honor, the 10-2 combination is often referred to as the "Brunson hand." With these cards in hand, he beat his opponents in the final WSOP hands two years in a row and won his first gold bracelets.

He has taken part in many poker shows and has also had cameo roles in movies such as The Thing (2007) and Lucky Man (2007).

Doyle has serious health problems. Repeatedly he has been diagnosed with tumors, but despite doctors' disappointing prognoses, he manages to fight them.

The pseudonym Texas Dolly the player got because of the misspelled nickname Texas Doyle (from the poker player's name - Doyle Brunson) by a journalist.

In 2013 the bronze bust of Doyle Brunson was presented at the World Series of Poker in Rio, which can be considered as a monument to the poker player in his lifetime.
