Dmitry Yazov

Dmitry Yazov (born Dmitry Timofeevich Yazov on November 8, 1924 ) was a Russian and Soviet politician . He received his education from the Military Academy of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Russia and the Moscow International Higher Business School MIRBIS . Yazov held positions as a soldier, officer, and politician during his life . He was born in Omsk Oblast and passed away in Moscow on February 25, 2020 .

Throughout his life, Yazov received numerous awards and honors. Some of his awards include the Order of the Red Banner, Order of the Red Star, Order of the October Revolution, Order of Lenin, Order of the Patriotic War 1st class, Medal "For Military Merit", Order of Merit for the Fatherland (3rd and 4th classes), Order of Alexander Nevsky, Order of Honor, Medal "For Impeccable Service", Medal "For the Victory over Germany in the Great Patriotic War of 1941-1945", and the Zhukov medal .
