XDB Chain, formerly known as DigitalBits, is an open-source blockchain used to power digital assets, including branded currencies, non-fungible tokens (NFTs), stablecoins, and others. With the XDB Chain network, users can build mobile wallets, banking tools, smart devices, and other platforms involving payments.
The majority of the applications interact with the XDB Chain network via Frontier, a RESTful HTTP API server. It allows users to submit transactions, check accounts, and subscribe to events. For communicating with Frontier, XDB Chain maintains JavaScript and Go-based SDKs. There are community-maintained SDKs for Ruby, Python, and C#.
Each Frontier server connects to XBD's Core, a vital part of its network. The Core software validates and agrees with other instances of Core on the status of each transaction via the DigitalBits Consensus Protocol (DCP). The XBD network itself is a collection of linked Cores operated by different individuals and entities worldwide.
