Braun (company)

Braun is a Germany-based consumer products company that combines electronics and technology to design and manufacture goods such as shavers, beauty electronics, household appliances, and healthcare devices.

The company offers small electronics and appliances for personal use. Available in stores and online, consumers can shop for electric shavers, stylers and trimmers, permanent visible hair removal devices, kitchen and household appliances, watches, and healthcare devices, including blood pressure monitors and thermometers.

Braun offers a no-touch forehead thermometer that has both touching and no touching mode. In the no-touch mode, readings can be taken up to five centimeters (two inches) away from the person. The screen is color-coded to indicate if a person's temperature should be irregular. If the person's temperature is normal, the screen will be green. It changes to yellow to indicate a fever and red to indicate a high fever.

This type of technology has been used in countries such as Singapore to monitor those entering the country at boarders and check-points.
