Bitome

Bitome’s first product was a noninvasive tool for monitoring hydration status with applications in dialysis, diabetic sports performance and in maternal/fetal monitoring. Their hydration monitoring device called HydroCore can be used to assess volume status in congestive heart failure patients, which is a key biometric correlated with patient outcomes. The HydroCor device allows patients to self monitor their fluid levels. A finger is placed inside and the device calculates the fluid content of the whole body.

Bitome redesigned nuclear magnetic resonance NMR spectroscopy, using microsystem engineering principles to produce a cost-effective and intuitive platform.

Bitome was awarded a MassCONNECT Fellowship in 2018, where Bayer contributed to the fellowship with six months of workspace in the LifeHub Boston.

Co-founder and CEO Herb Ryan previously worked in academic and industry in the field of metabolomics and has authored more than 30 peer reviewed manuscripts and has issued and pending patents from his research and development.
