Bandırma Gübre Fabrikaları Co. is one of the pioneers in the field of fertilizer production. Having targeted improving continuously since its first day, Bagfas has broken new grounds in fertilizer production, globally and in Turkey.
BAGFAS Integrated Fertilizer Facilities were built on the South coast of the Marmara Sea, between Bandırma and Erdek, where the Kapidag peninsula meets the land.
BAGFAS, a public company, having incorporated the required regulations within the Capital Markets Board of Turkey into its founding corporation charter, leads by example not just technologically but also on social and legal fronts.
BAGFAS has been established by local farmers and merchants headed by young Industrial Chemical Engineer MSc. RECEP GENÇER, the founder of Etibank Borax and Boric acid plants, who had seen the increasing fertilizer requirements in the region back in year 1969. Having had its IPO shortly following its foundation , BAGFAS shares have been quoted in the stock market since then. In 1978 the headquarters were agreed to be moved to Istanbul in the Annual Shareholders’ meeting.
