Avetis Aharonian

Avetis Aharonian (1866-1948) was an Armenian politician, writer, and teacher, born in Iğdır, in the Russian Empire. Aharonian held various occupations throughout his life, including positions as a teacher, writer, and politician(1674854)(82845472). He was a citizen of the Russian Empire and of Armenian nationality.

Aharonian received his education at the Gevorgian Seminary, the University of Lausanne, and the Faculté des lettres de Paris(1674850)(82845471). He used pseudonyms such as Altiar and Elias Sarkis Altiar in some of his writings(82845474).

He was a key political figure in the Armenian National Council (1917–18), which he founded. Aharonian died in Paris on April 20, 1948.
