Alexander Zinoviev (October 29, 1922 - May 10, 2006) was a Russian philosopher, mathematician, writer, politician, publicist, and sociologist. He was born in Kostroma Oblast, Russian Soviet Federative Socialist Republic, and held citizenship of the Soviet Union and Russia. Zinoviev was educated at Moscow State University.
His doctoral advisor was Valentin Ferdinandovich Asmus, and among his doctoral students were Georgy Shchedrovitsky, Vladimir (Cantarean), and Vladimir. Alexander Zinoviev passed away in Moscow on May 10, 2006.
Throughout his career, Zinoviev was awarded the Order of the Red Star and the Medal "For the Victory over Germany in the Great Patriotic War of 1941-1945".
