Aleksandr Aleksandrovich Volkov

Aleksandr Aleksandrovich Volkov is a Russian pilot and astronaut who was born on May 27, 1948, in Horlivka. He holds citizenship in both Soviet Union and Russia. Volkov's occupations include aircraft pilot, astronaut, and test pilot. He is the child of Alexander Timofeevich Volkov and Nadezhda Ivanovna Volkova, and his son is cosmonaut Sergey Volkov.

In his career, Volkov has received several prestigious awards, including Hero of the Soviet Union, Order of Lenin, Order of the October Revolution, Order of Friendship of Peoples, Medal "For Merit in Space Exploration", Order "For Merit to the Fatherland", 2nd class, and Legion of Honour.
