Akira Yamaoka (born February 6, 1968, Niigata, Japan) is a Japanese composer, multi-instrumentalist, author of music for a number of Konami video games. Yamaoka graduated from Tokyo University of the Arts, where he studied product and interior design. Joined Konami on September 12, 1993, already having by this time experience as a freelance composer. After finishing the development of Silent Hill: Shattered Memories, Yamaoka left the company. He worked at Konami for 16 years.
