Quantum information transport (QIT) systems carry quantum state information. It offers much higher information security and high reliability with high resistance to jamming and environmental variation. Existing QIT systems are bulky, heavy, and show high noise. This SBIR project aims to develop a new ultra-compact quantum information transport (QIT) system over X-band RF communication with low size, weight, and power consumption (SWaP). In Phase I, we will design the compact quantum information transmission and receiving system and evaluate its performance. In Phase II, a prototype of the compact quantum information transport system with high SNR and low SWaP will be built for maritime airborne applications. Lab tests of the system for effective quantum information transport will be performed over the X-band communication link. Initial technology transition and commercialization will be performed in the Phase II program, including conducting advanced prototyping, validating system-level performance, identifying applications and customers, and technology transition to prime contractors and system vendors.
