emitWise

EmitWise is an early-stage startup focused on helping large businesses monitor and manage their carbon footprint. The stated mission of the company is to help business transition to carbon neutrality, with the goal of supporting the fight towards climate change.

The company was started in June of 2019, and as of August 2019 it was live and running pilots with two large enterprises.

EmitWise's software audits the carbon footprint of businesses' operations and supply chains, helping them remain compliant, improve brand image, and reduce operating costs. The company works with enterprises, NGOs and the wider business community.

The emitWise tool integrates with internal systems such as ERPs, and sources publicly available information to map the carbon footprint of operations and supply chains. The emitWise Machine Learning platform then aggregates and analyzes extracted information to accurately estimate the carbon footprint resulting from every process, product, and supplier. EmitWise uses the Greenhouse Gas Protocol to convert the data into carbon dioxide equivalents. The emitWise dashboard is also capable of running emissions reduction simulations to help companies analyze the possible impact and outcome of reduction opportunities.

As of November 2020, emitWise had two customers, Spendesk and Seed, which both use their carbon accounting software. The product emitWise is offering is expected to grow as regulation drives carbon reduction and companies express more interest in creating net-zero carbon products and services.
