Yuri Vasilyevich Kondratyuk is a Russian and Soviet scientist of Swedish-Jewish origin, one of the founders of cosmonautics. At the beginning of the XX century, he calculated the optimal flight path to the moon. These calculations were used by NASA in the Apollo lunar program.
