YUNGBLUD

Dominic Richard Harrison (born 5 August 1997), known professionally as Yungblud (pronounced "Youngblood"; stylized YUNGBLUD), is an English singer, musician and songwriter. In 2018, he released his first EP, Yungblud, followed shortly after by the album 21st Century Liability. In 2019, he released another EP, The Underrated Youth. His second album, Weird!, was released in late 2020 and peaked at the top of the UK Albums Chart and reached number 75 on the US Billboard 200.

Harrison was born on 5 August 1997, in Doncaster, South Yorkshire, to Samantha Harrison and Justin Harrison. He has two younger sisters; Jemima and Isobel. He studied at Arts Educational Schools, London and appeared in Emmerdale and The Lodge before beginning his music career.

1. Dominic probably has music in his blood. His grandfather, Rick Harrison, performed with a famous psychedelic folk band T-Rex in the 1970s.
2. He started playing the guitar at around 8 and also learned how to play the piano and drums. “I’m not a guitar player. I can just write”, he says. “I can create shit, but I’m not gonna go f–king play with Foo Fighters”.
3. At school Dominic was “a bit naughty”, as he said what he meant (and hasn’t changed since). He dropped out at 16 and moved to London to “pursue a career as a rock’n’roll star”, as he puts it.
