Vumile Msweli was born in Durban, and went to University of Pretoria where she graduated with a Bachelor of Commerce in Accounting Sciences. She also holds a Bachelor of Commerce in Financial Planning Honors degree, an Executive Education certification from New York University Stern Business School and University of Pretoria’s Gordon Institute of Business Science, as well as an MBA from the University of London.
Vumile is a career coach with almost a decade of experience in the financial services industry and several years of experience in the telecommunications industry. She has worked for financial institutions such as Investec, Barclays, Nedbank, First National Bank and Vodafone.
In 2012, Vumile founded Hesed Consulting (Pty) Ltd, a pan-African coaching and consulting firm. Hesed Consulting has presence in Nigeria, Rwanda, Botswana, South Africa and affiliates in Namibia and Uganda. She also founded Vumi and Veuve mentorship circles, a collaboration with Veuve Clicquot to drive dialogue with women across South Africa. She sat on the board of Diabetes South Africa and in 2019 she took residency as the expert in residence at the Africa Leadership University in Kigali, Rwanda.
Vumile has a radio slot on "world of work" with Vumi Msweli on Kaya FM in South Africa on "my money and me", and "Career Corner" with Vumi Msweli on Duma FM in Botswana

Vumile Msweli has been given numerous accolades and honors such as being named a Brand South Africa Ambassador; Mail and Guardian Top 200 most influential Young South Africans 2016; being Invited to the African Union as one of the Inaugural Africa Talks Jobs candidates; being named one of Africa’s 1000 most influential voices; listed in ABSIP’s annual Black book of people to know; Nedbank’s Game Seven CEO and the United Kingdom’s Pharside Leading Lady, Southern Times One of South Africa’s most influential women.
