Patent 7380496 was granted and assigned to DEERE & COMPANY on June, 2008 by the United States Patent and Trademark Office.
A round baler is provided with a single set of belts, which are rotated over a series of fixed and mobile rolls. In order to form a bale of a large diameter several loops are formed in the belts, which loops are controlled by two pivot arms. On a first pivot arm at least three rolls are provided, of which one is an idler roll, and on the second pivot arm at least one idler roll is provided, which all create loops to avoid slack in the belts.
