An ultrasonic mist inhaler, including a liquid reservoir structure including a liquid chamber adapted to receive liquid to be atomized, the liquid chamber including a top surface representing a maximum level of the liquid chamber and a bottom surface representing a minimum level of the liquid chamber, a sonication chamber in fluid communication with the liquid chamber, the sonication chamber includes a piezoelectric transducer and a capillary material extending between the sonication chamber and the liquid chamber, wherein the piezoelectric transducer and the liquid chamber are arranged according to one of the following configurations: the piezoelectric transducer is disposed close to or at the bottom surface of the liquid chamber, the piezoelectric transducer is disposed close to or at the top surface of the liquid chamber as depicted in FIG.
