One embodiment provides a method, including: receiving an indication that a wearable device comprising a passive sensor is at a predetermined location within a healthcare enterprise, wherein the wearable device is associated with a patient within the healthcare enterprise; determining a status of the patient within an operational system associated with the healthcare enterprise; and updating, based upon the determined status of the patient within the operational system, a system associated with the healthcare enterprise, wherein the updating comprises updating a status of the patient within the system.
