The receiving sleeve and the holding device have a light construction which allows the maximum flow of fluid to instruments held in the receiving sleeve or holding device. The receiving sleeve includes a cylindrical hollow body with a plurality of peripherally spaced inner clamping arms which have punctiform or linear engagement sections that are adjusted to come into contact with an inserted tool in a force-fit or form-fit manner for holding the tool within the receiving sleeve at a radial distance to the cylindrical body.
