Tulane University

Tulane University is a New Orleans-based institute of higher education. It is a member of the Association of American Universities. It offers undergraduate, graduate, and professional degrees is various disciplines including liberal arts, engineering, and public health.

The university partnered with the University Medical Center New Orleans-Louisiana Children's Medical Center (UMC-LCMC) to create a diagnostic test for COVID-19. The test that was developed by the pair used saliva or mucus swabs from patients and then ran them through the Cobas 6800 analyzer, which is manufactured by the Swiss company Roche Diagnostics.
