The Microbiome Coalition (TMBC) represents companies and individuals in the microbiome field and aims to educate the public with understanding of the role of the microbiome in human health and wellness as well as advance regulation, needed investment, and infrastructure.

Organization

The organization is comprised of commercial entities in the microbiome research sector. AO Biome, Abbott Nutrition, CosmosID, Diversigen, Mayo Clinic, Second Genome, and Whole Biome are credited as having provided funding and support for the launch of TMBC. Membership to the organization is open to any company, entity, or individual that has the common goal of advancing the commercial success of microbiome research and products. Its stated goals are to provide education about the topic and improve regulatory engagement and standards. The research conducted by the entities in the organization can lead to the development of therapies, diagnostics, and consumer and nutrition products using interactions with the microbiome.
