SBIR/STTR Award attributes
The sequential Phase II effort will combine low-cost, fixed site and mobile RF sensors and a scalable mesh-network C3/data relay capability to develop and demonstrate a scalable common operating picture (COP) that provides assured connectivity and situational awareness (SA) for convoy personnel and threat warning detection and geolocation of commercial drone systems and unauthorized personnel in degraded visual environments. Under a spiral development process, the networked RF sensor functional capability will include localized threat detection in high risk areas, blue force tracking of dismount personnel by command authorities, voice, text, RF sensor and video/picture sharing for a shared COP, enhanced SA and positive C3. The system will be inherently capable of supporting Ethernet-based RF threat sensors, full Android Tactical Assault Kit (ATAK) functionality with scalable coverage across the vast acreage that comprises a regional operational field of regard. The demonstrated Regional Operating Picture (ROP) – C3/SA/Counter UAS (CUAS) system will be able to provide functions to include both detection, geolocation and interdiction of unauthorized personnel and small UAS that pose an immediate threat to convoy operations, downloading/distribution of blue–force small UAS video feeds, and technically capable of ingesting and distributing RVA video content.
