Abstract

A novel method for spider silk production is proposed from genetic engineering to fabric production utilizing microbial organisms. Industrially viable process blocks are utilized in each step of the bioprocess to allow for scalability of the overall process towards commercialization. Department of Defense (DoD) and civilian markets have been proven through buy in of DoD entities as well as private corporations.
