Tandem Technical is a rapidly growing startup helping greenhouse gas emitters across multiple industries capture and convert pollution from a liability into an asset. The company's patented process recycles carbon into highly marketable mineral by-products such as calcium carbonate, used in products ranging from health supplements to paint, toothpaste, fertilizer, and building materials. Tandem Technical is benefiting from significant cross-sector partnership and collaboration to rapidly commercialize and scale its clean technology innovation, and meet exploding global market demand while at the same time making a major impact on industrial pollution.

Tandem Technical is comprised of engineers and scientists from Ottawa and Washington, DC. The company was formed in 2016 to develop new approaches for the environmental engineering industry. While Tande Technical focuses on the XPRIZE, they are concurrently working on a low energy desalinization technology that they hope to deploy throughout the world in low-income, water-scarce areas.

Tandem Technical's partners are Ontario Centres of Excellence, Queen's University, Innovation Park Queen's University, Mclean Chimney, XPRIZE, Enviro Innovate, and Northumberland.
