A STTR Phase I contract was awarded to T G V Rockets Inc in March, 2019 for $99,905.0 USD from the U.S. Department of Defense and Missile Defense Agency.
Demonstration and firing of thermally enhanced alcohol fuel w/Nitrous Oxide at 900 Lbf. To address the need posed by the Missile Defense Agency (MDA), TGV proposes a “˜green’ engine that uses a simple blend of liquid blend of fuels and TGV’s engine technology. TGV proposes modifying our existing 1,000 lbf engine that we have tested to demonstrate and get thermal data using nitrous as the oxidant and a thermally stabilized hydrocarbon such as ethanol with silicon oil. TGV will use this thermal data to plan an engine that will meet the MDA requirements. As MDA is interested in a low toxicity, non-cryogenic propellant, liquid fueled, air launched capable, upper target stage, TGV believes we can meet these goals with these technologies.
