Wei Sun founded SunP Biotech in 2014. The company operates out of Cherry Hill, New Jersey, and Beijing, China. SunP Biotech develops and manufactures 3D biofabrication products for use in tissue engineering, biomemetic design, pharmaceutical research, organ-on-a-chip technologies, and drug testing.
Notable bioprinters made by SunP Biotech are: ALPHA-CPM1 (SunP patented mini cell printer), ALPHA-CPD1 (SunP patented desktop cell printer), ALPHA-CPT1 (Multi-nozzle 3D cell printing system), and the ALPHA-BP11 (Multi-nozzle low-temperature deposition 3D printing system). SunP's ALPHA-CPD1 bioprinter won Silver A's 2017-2018 Design Award in Scientific Instruments, Medical Devices and Research Equipment design Category.
