Shackleton Energy Company is a company that is interested in providing and developing space-based initiatives for various purposes. The company was founded in 2008 by Jim Keravala, Dale Tietz, Bill Stone, and Erika Ilves, in Austin, Texas, United States.
The company was officially launched to be a space infrastructure program. They have since developed a plan that includes a series of missions and phases. Phase one includes ramping up to the industrial scale program the wish to meet. Phase two is finding ice, which includes robotic prospecting and mapping of where there is water on the moon. Next is developing an infrastructure for collecting and returning the water from the Moon to Earth. The fourth phase includes lunar development and creating their moonbase, and having a lunar operation in place with people on the moon. This phase will include supply chain operations and sales of fuel in low Earth orbits and on the moon.
