Sensor Electronic Technology (SETi) is a subsidiary of Seoul Semiconductor and Seoul Viosys, and is a supplier of deep ultraviolet LEDs with emission wavelengths shorter than 365 nanometers. The company develops, manufactures, and sells standard LED products on their VTOP trademark and custom LED products under the company's UVCLEAN products. This includes the company's platform of UV-A, UV-B, and UV-C LED products, with custom LED solutions, for curing, deodorization, sterilization, and insect attraction applications.
Founded in 1999, SETi is certified to ISO9001:2008. The company's core technology is based around the growth of AIGaN semiconductor materials, with patented processes MEMOCVD and MELEO, which allow SETi to develop high aluminum content AIGaN semiconductors and use them to develop LEDs.
The company's core competencies include semiconductor materials growth, UV LED device fabrication, UV LED packaging, and UV LED systems design and integration. This has included use in agriculture for natural vitamin D generation for indoor livestock production, and used for sanitation of surfaces.
Violeds, a version of the company's UV LEDs, are a clean technology used for disinfection, deodorization, phototherapy, and curing, developed through a collaboration between Seoul Viosys and SETi.
The Vertical LED (VLED) is a development of the LED substrate by SETi, which the company suggests is good for high power applications when compared to lateral LED. The benefits include higher power, efficiency, less current crowding, better light extraction, and better heat sinking. The main applications for VLEDs include street and indoor lighting, flash for cameras, automobile headlights, and for traffic signals, or anything which needs bright lights.
