Born May 13, 1945, in Wackpeton, North Dakota, USA.

Graduated from the University of North Dakota in Grand Forks. Since 1968, he has been a professor of drama at the College of Drama in Lancaster, California. Sam Anderson has a degree in literature and drama. He is a member of the Writers Association of the United States.

He has been on TV since 1978, and is active in TV series. His most famous role is Mr. Gorpley in the TV series "Stranger / Perfect Strangers" (1986-1993). Remembered by audiences as Brendan Nedler in the series "Staying Alive" (2004-2008).

In cinema, he first appeared in 1995 in the comedy "Pushers and Throwers," in which he played the role of Ray Berg. Sam Anderson's film roles include Hugh Honeycock in Forrest Gump (1994, directed by Robert Zemeckis),

Charles Petton in Dudes (2002), George in Seduction Lessons (2004).
