Widespread use of UASs has found its way into everyday life of virtually everyone. Likewise, the usecases are expanding in step with the increase in technical innovation finding its way into UAS designs. Autonomous transportation of human passengers onboard UASs is one of the only remaining usecases with ample room for technical innovation/discovery. This proposal outlines a technical approach for designing and developing a dualuse personnel payload module for the existing Tactical Resupply Vehicle 400’s (TRV400) versatile integrated payload system. Most logistics usecases for a multirotor UAS are limited to lastmile flight ranges because of battery power constraints. Expansion of the feasible logisticsrelated usecases, particularly human transportation, flight ranges must be extended. As a secondary element of this proposal, the use of a fixed, articulating winglet will be studied and demonstrated using a smallscale UAS as a concept demonstrator.
