SI2 Technologies, Inc. (SI2) proposes to further develop its Direct Write Resistive Film product to meet industry and Department of Defense (DoD) defined requirements. SI2s Resistive Film product has the potential to benefit the DoD through the availability of a cost effective, low scrap, accurate and precise Resistive Film product. Further benefits include generation of a family of platform agnostic product offerings that are scalable and tailorable for use across Air Force, Navy and Army services, primarily in aviation.In Phase II, SI2 will optimize the current resistive and conductive inks used to cover the target resistance values.The Direct Write web handling equipment and processing will be upgraded to aid accuracy and precision of the printed product.Calibration curves will be developed to determine the ink ratios and print conditions required to meet the target Resistive Film values.A protective coating will be developed to increase durability of the printed Resistive Films to environmental conditions.A draft process control document will be developed based on the refinements made to both the raw materials and printing processes.Three lots of two different Resistive Film designs will be manufactured and characterized to raise the TRL/MRL to 6.
