Russia

Russia is a country spanning Eastern Europe and Northern Asia. At over 6.6 million miles in area, it is the largest country in the world.

The total length of Russia's borders is nearly 38,000 miles (of which over 24,000 are maritime borders). Russia's maritime borders are located to the North and East of the country, and its land borders in the South and West. The country has land borders with countries including Kazakhstan, China, Mongolia, Ukraine, Finland, and Belarus; and maritime borders with Japan and the United States.

Despite the fact that Russia is the largest country in the world in terms of area, the climatic and soil conditions in most of its territory do not favor agriculture. Due to its vast area, Russia is a country of natural contrasts: the average temperatures of the warmest month range from 33.8°F in the polar regions to 77°F in the Caspian Lowland, and the coldest month from 43°F on the Black Sea coast to -58°C in northeastern Siberia.
