Rudolf Virchow was a Prussian scientist, physician, anthropologist, biologist, and politician . Born on October 13, 1821, in Świdwin , he was a citizen of the Kingdom of Prussia .
Virchow studied at Humboldt University of Berlin and the University of Würzburg . His doctoral advisor was Johannes Peter Müller . As a noteworthy academic, Virchow advised several doctoral students, including Robert Koch, Edwin Klebs, Friedrich Daniel von Recklinghausen, Eduard von Rindfleisch, and Samuel Siegmund Rosenstein . He was also the father of Hans Virchow .
Rudolf Virchow passed away on September 5, 1902, in Berlin .
