Who is Rosie Huntington-Whiteley?
Rosie Huntington-Whiteley is an English actress, model, and businesswoman. She is known for her work for ‘Victoria’s Secret’, a well-known American designer, manufacturer, and marketer’s of women’s lingerie, womenswear, and beauty products. She is also known for her work with ‘Burberry’ a British luxury fashion house, as she became the face of their brand fragrance ‘Burberry Body’. She eventually moved into acting and played a supporting role in the American sci-fi action film ‘Transformers: Dark of the Moon’, which was the third installment in the popular Transformers film series. The film was a huge success commercially, earning more than $1 billion. It was also nominated for multiple Oscars. A few years later, she appeared in the action film ‘Mad Max: Fury Road’. The film did well commercially, enabling her to make a successful transition to an acting career from being just a model. In her career so far, she has received several honors such as the ‘Elle Style Award’ ‘Model of the Year’ in 2009 and the Harper Bazaar Women of the Year Award for ‘Model of the Year’ and ‘Businesswoman of the Year’ in 2014 and 2016 respectively. Recently, she was named as one of the world’s highest paid models by ‘Forbes’ magazine.
Modeling Career
Rosie Huntington-Whiteley was signed to the American lingerie brand ‘Victoria’s Secret’ in early 2006. She made her debut at the brand’s fashion show held in Los Angeles. For the next two years, however, she remained mostly unknown until she was cast by chief creative director Christopher Bailey, in the autumn/winter campaign for Burberry. As her popularity increased, she was featured on the cover of the ‘British Vogue’ magazine in November 2008 alongside two other models.
She modeled for Godiva and Miss Sixty in 2009. In 2010, she official became one of the ‘Victoria’s Secret Angels’ and modeled for the ‘Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show’ held at New York City. She also posed nude for the Pirelli Calendar, photographed by Terry Richardson, the same year.
As she appeared in several other advertisement campaigns, her fame peaked to newer heights and fashion photographer John Rankin Waddell published a book which was entirely devoted to her.
She made a solo appearance on the cover of the magazine ‘British Vogue’ in March 2011 and later appeared on the covers of ‘Elle’ and ‘GQ’ magazines’ UK issues in July. Later in 2013, she was announced as the face of the Australian cosmetics brand Modelco.
She has appeared in advertising campaigns for many brands, such as ‘Dolce & Gabbana’, ‘Leon Max’ ‘Sportsmax’ ‘Marks & Spencer,’ ‘Levi’s,’ ‘Macy’s,’ ‘Tommy Hilfiger,’ ‘Clinique,’ ‘Thomas Wylde,’ and ‘BCBG.’
