Robert Bradbury

Robert Bradbury was an American film actor, director, and screenwriter best known for his movies The Lucky Texan, The Star Packer, and West of the Divide. He is well-known for directing thirteen of John Wayne's early films and directed 125 movies between 1918 and 1941. Robert Bradbury began in the industry in 1918 and would make the majority of his films under Paul Malvern's Lone Star Productions, which were released through Monogram Pictures. Often, Bradbury cast his son, the western actor Bob Steele.

Bradbury is most famous for his work on John Wayne's early westerns. These inexpensively shot films from the 1930s were also known as "Poverty Row" films and were often also written by Bradbury and featured a common cast of character actors.
