Rainer Weiss

Rainer Weiss is a physicist born on September 29, 1932 in Berlin . Weiss holds citizenship in the United States and is best known as the founder of the LIGO Hanford Observatory . He was educated at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) . Weiss's doctoral advisor was Jerrold R. Zacharias .
