Qopius is a Paris-based artificial intelligence company that aims to save retailers money lost due to issues with the store availability of their products. They do this using advanced computer vision and deep learning technology to identify products from graphics and text and to precisely determine their sizes.
Shelves can be "digitized" using various methods including smart phones held by employees, mounted shelf cameras, drones, and robots. Once data has been collected, it can be processed in real-time to provide retailers with analytics they can use to optimize shelf stocking.
Qopius' software performs multiple functions:
- Identify on shelf product availability and generate an list for actions such as restocking out-of-stock products.
- Identify errors such as misplaced products and price label issues and generate optimized planograms.
- Generate an autonomous store map to guide employees and shoppers in the store.
In addition to their work with artificial intelligence, Qopius is also developing their own retail robots to automate the process of digitizing shelves.
