Abstract

Q-Peak proposes a compact novel multifunction high-power isolator optical, leveraging several developed innovations into a robust package to allow a significant power and performance increase as compared to current fiber isolators. Specifically, the use of KTF as the Faraday medium and the integration of a fiber collimator and mode-stripper provides a path to extremely high forward and backwards powers. Face cooling of the Faraday medium will also be investigated as a means of decreasing thermal effects to achieve low forward transmission loss and high isolation.
