It is a device that is intended to be used by healthcare professionals working in the intensive care unit (ICU) to aid with continuous renal replacement therapy (CRRT) and therapeutic plasma exchange (TPE) therapies. The system is available in certain countries across the world, including the United States, Europe, and Australia.
How PrisMax System Works
PrisMax System is available by prescription only. It helps to simplify therapy delivery for healthcare professionals. It can automate tasks related to CRRT and TPE therapies, which are often intensive. The device aids with effluent management and offers automated drainage and bag drain configurations. It also has another product of Baxter International, TherMax, integrated into it. This feature warms up for extracorporeal therapies to maintain the temperature of the patient's body. The device can also regulate pumps that are necessary for the aforementioned therapies and has alarm features that can indicate malfunctions.
The device is intended to be used by CRRT patients weighing more than 45 pounds with acute renal failure and/or fluid overload. It can also be used to aid with TPE therapy for patients over 45 pounds with diseases needing removal of plasma components.
