The Port of Gabes is located in Gabes, Tunisia, in the Gulf of Gabes in the Mediterranean Sea. The port is a medium-sized port, accessible on land by both road and rail. The official UN/Locode is TNGAE. The port authority is the Office of the Merchant Marine and Ports(OMMP).
The port was built in 1974 and can accept fuel oil, bitumen, liquid soda, and sulfur and is equipped to ship sulfuric and phosphoric acids. It also has facilities for unloading ammonia. The port accounts for about 19 percent of Tunisia's trade and transports around 4.5 million tons of goods each year.

Port of Gabes
The port is industrial, primarily transporting chemicals from surrounding factories in Gabes, with about 90 percent of the port traffic being chemical transport. Imports are usually sulfur and ammonia, and exports are usually phosphoric acid and phosphate fertilizer. The types of vessels calling at the Port of Gabes are general cargo (51 percent), bulk carrier (21 percent), and LPG tanker (13 percent).
The access channel is 1.74 miles, or 3.22 km, and the depth is 44 feet 33 inches, or 13.5 meters. The turning circle has a diameter of 600 meters. The port has two man-made basins—the outer basin is 50 hectares and 12.5 m deep and the inner basin is 30 hectares and 10.5 m deep.
The maximum length of the largest vessel recorded entering the port is 205 meters long. The maximum draught is 10.4 meters and the maximum deadweight is 63878 tons.
The port is protected by a 2,820 meter long northern wall and a 1,460 meter long southern wall.

- Two pneumatic lifting geans of 43 and 63 T
- Loading arm for LPG
- Suction gantry 300T/H .
