Funding Round attributes
Delft-based deep-tech startup Perciv AI has raised €2.5 million in a seed funding round led by DayOne Capital and Keen Venture Partners, with additional participation from Vinci Venture Capital. The funding will enable the company to expand its operations and scale its radar-based perception solutions across industries such as automotive, robotics, and aerospace.
Perciv AI, founded by TU Delft alumni Balazs Szekeres, Dr. Andras Palffy, and Srimannarayana Baratam, specializes in developing advanced AI technology for radar perception. The company addresses the challenges associated with traditional radar systems and the high costs of LiDAR sensors in automation. By leveraging radar and radar-camera fusion technology, Perciv AI delivers LiDAR-like performance at a lower cost, allowing automated systems, robots, and vehicles to perceive their surroundings accurately in all conditions. The solution is compatible with various radar types, ranges, and applications.
The investment reflects the confidence of prominent venture capital firms in Perciv AI’s innovative approach to enhancing radar technology. DayOne Capital, a seed-stage venture capital firm focused on B2B software companies in Central Eastern Europe, led the funding round. Dr. Csaba Kakosy, Managing Partner at DayOne, emphasized the alignment between Perciv AI’s mission and DayOne’s investment strategy. “Investing in Perciv AI aligns perfectly with our vision of supporting transformative technologies that not only drive cost efficiencies for OEMs but also pave the way for safer, smarter, and more sustainable mobility across industries,” he said.
Keen Venture Partners, a pan-European venture fund based in Amsterdam and London, co-led the funding round. The firm focuses on fast-growing technology companies in sectors such as AI, aerospace, and financial operations. General Partner Alexander Ribbink and Investor Giuseppe Lacerenza at Keen Venture Partners expressed their enthusiasm for Perciv AI’s potential. “We are highly impressed by the team at Perciv AI and their innovative product. Perciv AI’s unique technology redefines radar capabilities, creating new use cases that position it as a compelling alternative to LiDAR and cameras. This unlocks significant potential across a wide spectrum of applications, enhancing radars’ performance in complex environments,” they said.
The funding will enable Perciv AI to further its mission of providing advanced radar-based perception solutions that are both cost-effective and efficient. By addressing the limitations of traditional radar systems and reducing reliance on expensive LiDAR sensors, the company aims to support the growing demand for automation across various industries. Its technology offers enhanced capabilities for automated systems and ensures reliable perception in challenging conditions, making it a valuable tool for automotive, robotics, and aerospace applications.
Perciv AI’s innovative approach has already garnered attention as a transformative solution for industries seeking to enhance safety and efficiency while reducing costs. The seed funding positions the company to accelerate the development of its technology and extend its impact across new markets and use cases. With support from leading venture capital firms and a strong foundation in cutting-edge AI and radar technology, Perciv AI is well-positioned to lead advancements in radar perception and automation.
