Paltalk, formerly known as Snap Interactive and PeerStreem, is a software development company making cybersecurity and privacy solutions for software application working with video, voice, and data communication that is headquartered in New York City, New York and was founded in 2005 by Clifford Lerner and Darrell Lerner.
On May 15, 2020 PeerStreem announced it will be changing its name to Paltalk and changing its ticker symbol from PEER to PALT and their company will continue to trade on OTC markets. The name change is supposed to reflect the refocusing of the company on its video-based social media applications Paltalk and Camfrog.
On October 27, 2006 Paltalk held their initial public offering (IPO) under the ticker OTCQB:PEER.
On January 12, 2011 Paltalk announced raising $8.5 million in post-IPO equity from private placement transactions.
On February 17, 2015 Paltalk announced raising $3 million in post-IPO equity from private placement transaction to Sigma opportunity Fund II, LLX in the form of a 12.0% Senior Secured Convertible Note due in February 2017.
