History
The five-star hotel "Odessa" was opened in 2001 on the territory of the seaport of Odessa . The hotel was built both at the expense of the state (80%) and at the expense of private investment (20%); this structure has been preserved in the issue of ownership of the tourist complex.
The total area of the building is 26 thousand m², the 19-storey building has a spire height of 82 meters. It was a complex consisting of 158 rooms, of which 132 are standard rooms, 15 junior suites, 10 suites, and one presidential suite . The hotel building stylistically completed the image of a modern seaport.
According to Alexander Filippov[ who? ] , the cost of a hotel room averaged 300-400 US dollars, but no more than 10 people lived in the building at the same time, which did not allow paying utility bills. He notes that the rooms were of unsatisfactory quality - the simplest renovation was made, and the outside of the building looked no better than inside.
In March 2011 , Nikolai Pavlyuk was appointed to the post of head of the Odessa seaport, he was ordered to hold an open competition to select a candidate for the position of director of the Odessa Hotel. In the same year, he was detained, he was accused of illegally spending 170,000 hryvnias to renovate a hotel in the interests of a private person.
In September 2011, the Supreme Economic Court overturned the decision to transfer the Odessa Sea Commercial Port of the Odessa Hotel to third parties for use and returned it to state control. On November 21, at a meeting of the competition commission in Odessa, the operator of the Odessa Hotel was chosen - the company Premier International (it had 9 years of experience in the hotel industry), but as of 2012 it was not open.
On April 22, 2018, roofers got into the hotel building and examined how it looks from the inside: furniture in the rooms and alcohol in mini-bars are still preserved in the abandoned hotel; There is no water, electricity or Wi-Fi in the building. [eight]
At the end of 2019: the Odessa hotel is being prepared for concession ; the building needs serious repairs both outside and inside, its cost may be about 200 million hryvnias.
