Neon

Neon is a Solana-based non-fungible token (NFT) marketplace and gallery. It was developed and launched by a team of six people in 2021. The platform accepts forms of payment in United States dollars from debit or credit cards and does not yet accept cryptocurrency, but the team behind the platform plans to make it crypto-friendly in the future.The company states that the purpose of first accepting a fiat currency is to make NFTs available to everyone without having to set up a wallet.

The Neon platform exists in the metaverse and has a focus on using NFTs to create digital memorabilia for important moments in Internet history. Neon uses zkRollups technology and is intended to enable users to be able to mint, sell, buy, and transfer their NFTs with no gas fees.NFTs can be bought and sold individually or as a collection.

In February 2022, Neon installed and opened its first NFT vending machine in New York City. The machine is located at 29 John Street and accepts the same forms of payment at the platform. After a consumer has paid for an NFT, the vending machine dispenses a box with a unique code inside of it. That code is for an NFT that is redeemable through the platform. The vending machine is accessible twenty-four hours a day.
