Navai Bakirov (Navai) is a musician, rapper of Azerbaijani origin, who is part of the duo "HammAli & Navai". The formation and development of Bakirov falls on the period from 2011 to 2018. Glory came to him in 2018, along with the union with another rapper Alexander Aliev (HammAli) and the debut album "Janavi", known for songs about love and suffering from unrequited feelings.
Childhood and education
Navai Bakirov was born on April 2, 1995 in Samara, but almost immediately after his birth, the family moved to Moscow. Navai has Azerbaijani roots, from 2006 to 2010 he lived in Ganja, the third largest city in Azerbaijan. Already in his school years, the guy showed interest in rap. In 2010, Bakirov entered the Academy of Labor and Social Relations in Moscow. The young man pays great attention to sports and his physical development, which he has repeatedly stated on his public pages on social networks.
Career
An important circumstance for the beginning of Navai's musical career was long-term friendly relations with Azerbaijani rappers Bakhtiyar Aliyev (Bahh Tee), whom Bakirov called his brother and teacher more than once, and Alexander Aliyev (HammAli) since 2011. Both had a significant impact on the formation of the young musician, supporting his development as a rap artist.
In February 2011, Navai made an attempt to find a second rapper to create a duet, but could not find someone suitable during this period. Meanwhile, already on April 7, 2011, Bakirov published his first music track “He didn’t lie” under the pseudonym Navai on the social network VKontakte. The beat for the composition was recorded by Alexei Bulgakov, also known as mikkey vall. Bulgakov worked with a fairly wide range of Russian performers, including well-known rappers Alexander Aliev, Basota, L'One and Zammer. The first public performance of Navai took place in one of the Moscow clubs in May 2011. The period of June-November 2011 also includes the first collaborations between Navai and other rappers. It all started with the track "Feelings", recorded together with the performer under the pseudonym Pr1nce (Elchin Mammadov), and continued with the song "Vera" in a duet with rapper RamilD.
A significant stage at the beginning of Bakirov's career was the joint track "Leave" with Gosha Mataradze, a popular representative of southern rap in Moscow. Such a successful collaboration caused an increase, although not very significant at that time, of the musician's fame. However, Navai in the period from 2012 to 2016 was characterized by large breaks between the creation of music tracks, in total, four of them were published during this time. Such intervals could range from several months to two years. The performer himself explained this by creative crises and lack of inspiration.
We can also mention the continuation of cooperation with Bahh Tee, expressed in the recording in April 2017 of the joint track “Together to fly”. On June 5 of the same year, a video for this song was posted on YouTube.
