Mythic – formerly known as Isocline – is a company that develops a graphic processing unit (GPU) chip and software development kit (SDK) designed for artificial intelligence (AI) software development and deployment. The company was founded by Dave Fick and Michael B. Henry in 2012. Mythic aims to develop analog computing technology to enable faster AI deployment. Mythic has offices in Austin, Texas and Redwood City, California.
Mythic’s primary product offerings are presented in the form of Mythic IPU and Mythic SDK. Mythic IPU – which stands for Mythic Intelligence Processing Unit – is a hybrid (analog-digital) processor chip that allows for faster AI algorithm processing. Mythic SDK, on the other hand, helps users in developing neural networks that can be deployed through Mythic IPU’s analog system. Mythic’s products are suitable for use in companies requiring hardware capabilities suitable to implement AI-based software with high computing power needs, such as those operating in the automotive and aerospace industries.
Since April 2016, Mythic has managed to accumulate a funding total of $85.2 million through six rounds of financing. The company’s most recent funding series was a Series B in June 2019, raising $30 million. Past investors who have contributed capital to Mythic were Threshold, Future Ventures, Lux Capital, and AME Cloud Ventures.
