Brazilian writer
Monteiro Lobato was born on April 18, 1882, in Taubaté, Brazil. He was a Brazilian citizen and held various occupations, including journalist, writer, novelist, translator, and linguist. Lobato was educated at the Law School, University of São Paulo, and also attended the University of São Paulo.
He was the founder of Fundamentos, an organization in Brazil. Monteiro Lobato used his own name as a pseudonym and identified as Brazilian in his work. He died on July 4, 1948, in São Paulo, Brazil.
